Aegir Insights raises EUR 8.5 million in Series A funding from Seaya Andromeda and Climentum Capital

Mazanti Transactions has advised Spanish Seaya Andromeda and Danish Climentum Capitalboth Climate Tech Article 9 venture capital fundsin connection with the EUR 8.5 million in Series A funding for offshore wind company Aegir Insights

Aegir Insights was founded in 2020 by Scott Urquhart and Rikke Winther Nørgaard, both of whom bring extensive experience from their tenure at major renewable energy corporations, including Ørsted and Vattenfall.

Aegir Insights provides data and knowledge to key industry players, including offshore wind developers, investors, manufacturers, and governments, through its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. The company’s solutions play a crucial role in making data-driven decisions, optimising development, and reducing costs, thereby accelerating investment in the offshore wind sector. 

This funding will facilitate the expansion of Aegir Insights’ technology and services, further supporting the global transition to renewable energy.

The round was led by Seaya Andromeda, the largest ClimateTech Venture Capital in Southern Europe with EUR 300 million assets under management, with participation from Climentum Capital, a Venture Capital firm based in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Stockholm investing inhard-tech startups that cut emissions at the core of industries.

Both Seaya Andromeda and Climentum Capital is SFDR Article 9 venture funds. Seaya Andromeda is on a mission to address global sustainability challenges and deliver profits with purpose through investments in technology-driven companies focusing on Energy & Decarbonisation, the Circular Economy, and the Sustainable Food Value Chain. Climentum Capital is a pioneering fund and has a double incentives structure, with carry indexed on both CO2 emissions reductions and financial returns.
